And The Lord says:
Wednesday’s Can Be Great Nights Too…!
…especially when it involves LORD LOVES A WORKING MAN and THE CALIFORNIA HONEYDROPS taking the stage for the their first time at the legendary Boom Boom Room (1601 Filmore.)
As said before, it will be our first foray onto Filmore/Western Addition turf, so for those friends of ours in Oakland and the Mission, please feel free to come out and represent and for those friends who live close to the Boom Boom, you know you’ve been waiting for this night awhile where cab’n home or bummin’ rides is not needed.
Wednesday night will feature the fantastic talents of both of LLAWM’s singers Freddi Price and Cynthia Taylor in two power packed sets. We’ll make you dance, make you weep, make a smile…all the while we’ll be making sure you have yourselves a time while we’re on the clock and that we keep on earning that 2008 SF Weekly Award for best local soul group.

Our co-headliner, THE CALIFORNIA HONEYDROPS, are an amazing group that perfectly capture all the most hip shakin elements of New Orleans, Gospel, Blues, early R&B, Soul, and Barrelhouse Boogie. Every show I’ve ever seen of theirs is a classic; you won’t be able to sit down, stop clapping, or close your jaw when lead singer/guitarist/trumpeter Lech Wierzynski takes a solo.

Love this group, they rocked Slim’s when I saw them there, but how are they gonna fit an 8+ piece band on that tiny stage. Good luck getting a drink over the din. Mr. Ambivalent is ambivalent about this event, but if some Haighters are gonna go I might tag along.
